A pujança da Caterpillar pelo mundo, com mais de 500 unidades e empregando mais de 95 mil pessoas, com presença em Piracicaba há 41 anos e com a expectativa de gerar na cidade pelo menos mil postos de trabalho até o fim deste ano, foram um dos temas abordados pela diretora de assuntos corporativos e governamentais, Andrea Park, na manhã de ontem (30), na recepção a um grupo de vereadores que visitou o complexo industrial da empresa. No encontro houve ainda uma palestra sobre as perspectivas do mercado brasileiro.

Os vereadores Paulo Henrique Paranhos Ribeiro (PRB), Isac de Souza (PTB), Oswaldo Airton Schiavolin, o Tozão (PSDB), Pedro Kawai (PSDB), Coronel Adriana (PPS), Dirceu Alves da Silva (SD), Aldisa Vieira Marques, o Paraná (PPS), Paulo Campos (PSD), Wagner Oliveira, o Wagnão (PHS) e André Bandeira (PSDB) integraram a comitiva.

A consideração é que, nos 41 anos em Piracicaba, a unidade local da empresa se expandiu muito e hoje, mesmo num momento de crise no país, gera empregos, renda e tributos que retornam para o município, a exemplo das mil contratações em curso, das quais perto de 600 empregos já foram preenchidos, com a preferência para recontratar profissionais que foram desligados da empresa nos últimos anos, devido a crise econômica.

Andrea também destacou o papel de responsabilidade ambiental e social da companhia, que se porta como uma empresa cidadã, apoiando, por meio das leis de incentivo à cultura e ao esporte vários projetos, a exemplo de patrocinar a Orquestra Sinfônica Jovem de Piracicaba, que abrilhantou o evento de recepção aos vereadores, na execução de quatro números musicais.

Nas explanações sobre os planos da empresa, Andrea Park foi assessorada por seu time, responsável pelo relacionamento da empresa com os funcionários e com as esferas governamentais, a comunidade e a imprensa.
